June 17, 2025

Little Rock businessman, Michael Rushin (53), announces that he will be a candidate for the office of Pulaski County Judge in 2026.

A lifelong resident of Central Arkansas, Mr. Rushin is the owner and Principal Broker of Rushin Home Real Estate (www.RushinHome.com). He was born in 1972 at St. Vincent's hospital and grew up in Southwest Little Rock. Michael is a graduate of Wilbur D. Mills High School (1990) as well as Rhodes College (1994; Rhodes.edu). In 1995, he joined his father at The Mike Rushin Company, Inc., assisting him in the Property Management Division. He is a member of Pinnacle Church of Christ, home of the "Pigskin Preacher."

At age 18, Michael served as President of DeMolay Arkansas (www.beademolay.org), and, 20 years later in 2010, was elected as their Executive Officer. In 2017, Michael was elected to a four year term on the Board of Directors for DeMolay International representing the States of Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. In 2021, he received the DeMolay International "Executive Officer of the Year" award.

He was one of the youngest men to serve as the President of the Shriners of Arkansas (www.shriners.com) in 2009, and was privileged to be selected to the Board of Governors of the Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport, LA (2010-2012). At age 26, he was appointed to the Public Relations Committee for Shriners International.

He is the proud father of Abigail and Zachary Rushin. Abby is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a master's from William & Mary. Zach is in his final year at UCA with aspirations of a career in sports reporting. His beloved wife and mother of his children, Renea Rushin, passed away in 2014 (breast cancer). Michael is currently in a relationship with Marlene Michael (whom he had a crush on back in grade school).

Michael believes in a life of service to others, and he teaches teenagers that he works with to "lead from the front." Mr. Rushin also dabbles in competition BBQ and is known for donating meals to those affected by natural disasters. One of his many mottos is "have smoker, will travel."

Michael's enthusiastic leadership in various endeavors has prepared him to lead the Quorum Court as their next Judge. He considers himself to be a moderate with conservative values. Mr. Rushin looks forward to serving the citizens of Pulaski County for the coming years.
